3rd Annual Chess and Science Festival took place on Saturday, November 7th at Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium in Tucson, AZ.
All-Girls Tournament attracted 30 girls – our all-time high! Girls, ages 5 – 15 y.o., came from all over Arizona to compete in the All-Girls Tournament and participate in the numerous science activities. As before, their parents, siblings and hundreds of visitors came to participate in the Festival, cheer for the girls and support the cause. Mayor of Tucson, Jonathan Rothschild, came to address the girls and encourage their envolvement in chess, science and other intellectual areas.
Overall, Chess & Science Festival had overwhelmingly positive feedback and many parents expressed sincere gratitude to the organizers for the high quality outstanding event:
“Every Chess & Science Festival event has been great, and yet you manage to make it even better year after year. We don’t know how you are able to improve, but this year was the best!”
“… Our daughter loves to play in the All-Girls Tournament and we are looking forward to come back next year.”
“Thank you! Thank you! Thanks you! Chess & Science Festival was fantastic!”
and more.
We would like to express our sincere THANK YOU to all who supported the event, either by volunteering their time or by providing financial means to run it.
We look forward to organizing 4th Annual Chess & Science Festival in 2016, but hope to get additional support from the parents and sponsors!
